Book Review: Will Grayson, Will Grayson

Hey! So I figured out how to put a "video" directly on my blog with a little help from Sea J, so here's my book review! I made this "video" a couple weeks ago, so here goes. I realize that my voice sounds super stupid, so don't make fun because that's not how I sound in real life..... Haha. I usually don't talk about things that I do in this book review so please don't take me as a bad person.... I'm doing an honest review.

    1. I can't either! I'll try to see what's going on, but I have no idea why nobody can see it.... :(

  2. July it isn't working! I really would like to see this. I am a big fan of John Green's books as well as him. I am trying to decided if I should read this so I was hoping you video would help me decide.

    5. I haven't yet, I'm planning on reading The Fault in Our Stars, but after this book, I was wary to try another book of his which I will do soon. I don't know why no one but Treskie can get it to play! I'm trying to figure this out, so stay on board..... :P

    6. I'm, so glad you got it to work! Just wondering, what laptop do you have? What web browser do you use? I want people to be able to see this.... :P

    7. Apple-Safari

And did you read the synopsis of Will Grayson, Will Grayson? Because if you did then you would have saw that Will Grayson was gay. At least the synopsis of TFIOS then decided because it is a lovely book.

    8. Hmm, I'm using Apple-Safari too. Thanks though!

The synopsis could have meant anything though... I assume you're talking about the "romantic turns of heart" part? That could mean anything.

    9. The synopsis that I read was that Will was gay. I don't know where it was from though...

And I really hope this book doesn't ruin all John Green's books for you. I would say that one with the least amount of cussing is An Abundance of Katherine's where instead of using the F-Word they say Fug as a reference to an author. And I don't think TFIOS has much cussing either. From what I got from your book review I don't think you would enjoy Looking for Alaska.

    10. I read the synopsis I had on the "video" and it never clearly said he was gay, but whatever.

I almost ruined me wanting to try another one, but I am still gonna try TFIOS. I'll see if Looking for Alaska sounds good later, but for now, I'll just stick to TFIOS.

  4. Wow. You sound a LOT like Taylor Swift when you talk. :D

Ugh. That book sounds awful. Swearing and gay people. *vomit* I agree with everything you said. No, God did not make men to be with men or women with women. Thank you for that. :D And swearing... I can handle like two or three in an entire book, but... what was it... seventy in fifty pages? This book if for young adults?!?! Sheeesh.

    Cheers!

    1. I sound like Taylor Swift???? Is that a compliment, because if it is, well thanks I guess! :P It's probably the way my voice is computerized.... lol.

Glad you agree! I couldn't handle this book.

How did you see the movie? No one else, including me, can see it! What computer do you have? What web browser (is that what it's called) do you use?

    2. Hehehe, yep. It MIGHT be computerized, but I think it's mostly the accent. You have a slight.... accent. :D

Ummmmm. I use Google Chrome because it's faster, so that might be it. Urm... I have just a normal hp laptop. :) I think it's Chrome that lets you view the videos.

    3. Yikes, that's terrible! :O It would be so helpful if bookstores graded the books to help us find out which ones are appropriate for us.

    4. @Treskie Well I guess people from Michigan do have slightly different accents than the rest.... But I don't think I have an accent! Lol!

@Hilda they should!!! You could start one that does that..... :P

  5. I just was able to watch it on my brother's Macbook Pro on Google Chrome, so I don't know if it has anything to do with newer generations of computers or what web-browser you use, but Kylie told me that she was able to watch it on Safari. I don't know what's going on, but I hope I can figure this out why some people can watch it and others can't.

  6. Yay, I can see it! I guess I couldn't see it on my brother's IPad because it has no flash on it. Aw, your voice is cool, sis! My voice sounds like a squeaky little kid, LOL!

  7. I just watched it, using a Windows 7 desktop computer on Internet Explorer, but I can't see it on any of the laptops in my home. Weird. That book doesn't sound good at all...seventy swear words in 57 pages?! Your voice sounds fine to me, but recording does often change someone's voice.

    1. That is so weird how only certain computers can see it!!

It wasn't good, never read it! Lol.

  8. Hi I just wanted to say I really do love your blog, but I would like to say something else. Just like you gave an honest review of this book I would like to give an honest review of your review (sorry if that sounds weird). Ok so with the swearing I just wanted to say please don't let that stop you rom reading good books I totally get how that can make you uncomfortable but there just words and there are so many great books that are (annoyingly so) filled with swears. I've learned to get past it so I can experience all the great literature out there. Addressing your second problem.... Please don't take this the wrong was I'm not trying to force my opinions on you just as I hope you would never do to anyone else, but really theres no need for you to be anti-gay what people do in there own homes and how they want t live there lives in none of your concern. If two good people are happy together and they happen to be of the same gender let them be. God is accepting of everyone even if you believe that is a sin. I personally believe it is not a choice because honestly why would people killed themselves over being gay if it were a choice. Anyway please don't take this the wrong way. Your a great writer/reviewer and I love your blog. I hope you'll be able to respond to this. :)

    1. Hi! Thanks for your review of my review :) I made this a long time ago, about a year I think, and this may sound weird, but at that time I wasn't nearly as exposed to the topics addressed as I am now. I've gotta be honest because I live in a very traditional town that has very traditional views.

I get the swearing thing, some people don't have a problem with it, but I do. I can usually look past it and keep going, but when it happened so much in such a short period of time, it really bothered me.

Also, I wasn't trying to say that gays are horrible people or anything (NOT AT ALL) but I only said in the review that the topic was not something I cared to read about and that I believe that God created marriage to be between man and woman, not two of the same. Hate the sin, love the sinner. Listening back to this, I think I made a huge deal about it and forced my opinion across. I think gay wrong, but I think gay people are some of the nicest, funniest people and we are called to love everybody and spread God's love to every person we meet no matter who they are.

Overall though, I still think the book isn't worth reading because it didn't have a good plot and it was filled with immoral things like underage drinking and clubbing.

It's totally fine if you have another opinion on anything I just responded with. Thanks so much for expressing your opinion and I'm glad that you feel that you can do that on here :)
