My Summer Bucket List

Image
Hello everyone! So far so good with keeping up with regular-ish blogging! Aren't you proud me? I decided that I don't want to set a posting schedule for myself because if I do I'm afraid blogging will feel more like homework and then I'll become less and less motivated to do it. So for now, I'm just going to stick with writing posts as they come, whether that be three a week or one every three weeks. So we'll see what happens *fingers crossed*

Anyway, on to the main topic of this post... the thing you've allbeen waiting for... my 2017 summer bucket list! Every summer I make a list of goals and other fun things I want to accomplish during the summer, and this summer I want to share that list with you all! Maybe some of our goals are the same, or maybe your bucket list is completely opposite of mine. Whatever the case may be, I hope you enjoy your summer and are able to check many things off your own lists!

Let's get started!

Watch lots of sunsets! Sunsets…

Tips for the Tired Blogger

Image
Hola! Welcome back to my little blog :) Now, I know you're thinking, "wow, July... two posts this week after radio silence for like five months?" Well, it's true; here I am. I've recently been re-inspired to start blogging semi-regularly again and I can't wait to reconnect with all of my old blogging friends. My mission this week is to go back and read y'alls most recent posts!
Anyway, today I wanted to write a post about the struggles of the blogging process. Something all bloggers have experienced at some point or another is the feeling of "writer's-block...," that dreaded funk that takes over your head and eats up all creativity and inspiration before the ideas actually make it on the internet. We all know how frustrating it can be when writer's-block hits because it's not like we don't want to write a post for our blogs, but rather it's that we can't find the motivation inside to do it. Through personal experience, I …

An Open Letter To Myself, a Christian College Student

Howdy everybody! Remember me? July? That girl who used to post on her blog every once and a while? Well, I'm back, and I know I say this every time, but hopefully this time I'm back for good. This past year has been a crazy year (a post should be coming out shortly detailing my year), but the good news is, I'm finally a high school GRADUATE! Yes, I graduated. That means that college is right around the corner for me and I need to start making some really big decisions about my future.... *shudders* Wellllll, let's not talk about that right now. Anyway, I recently wrote a letter to myself of thoughts and tidbits that I want to take with me to college, and although it's quite personal, I wanted to share it (a slightly edited version) here anyway. Hopefully many years down the road when I'm looking back at this blog, I'll read this post and remember where I was in life in the time between high school and college. So I suppose this post is more for me than it i…

Somehow, the world is still spinning.

*please excuse this massive thought vomit*

So I'm guessing you've all heard the news by now. Whether you're a citizen of the United States of America or not, I'm sure the whole world was watching what played out on the night of November 8 at America's polls. Every four years we elect a new president through series of debates, a cutdown, more debates, and eventually a public vote between two main candidates (with the help of the electoral college, of course). This year, the stakes were especially high, given the two candidates.... a democratic liar and so called baby killer who put the nation at security risk, or a republican hothead whose disgustingly hateful words and policies spewed a trance of fear over the nation.

Somehow, we were supposed to pick one of these to be the new face of our country.
Somehow, we were supposed to make the choice between who is bad and who is worse.
Somehow, we were s…

Check In

Hey yo! First of all, HAPPY ELECTION DAY to my friends from the United States! I was able to exercise my civic duty today and vote for the first time which was extremely exciting and disappointing considering our presidential options..... ick.... That's a completely different story altogether though :)
Secondly, hi! I finally feel like I have time to breath (and write this blog post). Let me tell ya, it's been a crazy busy start to my senior year of high school. Wait, am I a senior already? Yep, you bet I am.  "Soooo..... July, what are you doing with your future?" Well, to be honest, I have no idea. Hopefully I'll be able to clue you in on that situation soon :)
ANYWAY! The main reason of this post is to share a piece of spoken word poetry I have written and revised within the last six months. I don't know if you remember, but I wrote a post a long time ago about how much I love spoken word (you can read it HERE), and I finally felt inspired enough to write…

Adventures in Paradise: Yucatan, Mexico

Hellloooo! It's me, July. And I'm back from Mexico with many a story to tell!! I'm really excited about this post because I get to show you all of the great stuff I experienced while down in Mexico. I guess this post is basically my personal travel diary that you get to come in on, so enjoy my stories and pictures just as much as I enjoyed writing about them and reflecting on my amazing time :)
Also, I just realized as I got done writing this post that this computer doesn't have spell check. So bear with my spelling mistakes!!

Let's get started!

June 4: Day One This was our big travelling day! I was very nervous and excited because I had never been on a plane before or out of the country before. However, despite the nerves, I really enjoyed flying. I even saw a rainbow from the plane window while we were wayyyyy up in the air.  When we finally arrived in Merida, Mexico, the second we got out of the airport, we could already feel the intense heat. My friend Danielle…
