A Poem by July: A Man I Knew

Hello guysssss! So this is just going to be a quick post for y'all tonight because I still have to do my homework!
Anyway, in my English class at school, we're working on a writing unit, and today we had to look at a whole bunch of different poem titles, pick one, and without reading the poem that goes with it, write our own poem based on the title. I chose the title "A Man I Knew" and I just thought I'd share it's rough draft with you! Please note that I am extremely inexperienced in poetry, and this hasn't been through much revision, so give me a little grace :)
Here goes nothing.

A Man I Knew

my mind often wanders to the strong, yet equally soft man I knew the taste of him tickles my lips the familiar smell of cinnamon reminds my nose of him I remember how his rough hands against mine felt like sandpaper on already smoothed wood my ears still hear the sound of his voice, humming to himself as he worked on his truck and my legs still remember how they hung off…

Top 5 Fictional Places I Would Like To Visit!

Helllooo everyone! This wonderful Thursday is my second snow day of the week, meaning that I've had two unplanned days off of school already because of the weather, and that gives me plenty of time to blog! Yay!

So this post idea has been sitting in my drafts for quite some time, and now I've finally gotten time to actually write it up. As you can probably see from the title, I'm gonna share my top five fictional destinations, and then at the end, I'm going to tag a few others to share their top five. I'm just gonna take a generic post idea and turn it into a tag!

Let's get started!

1. Hogwarts. Not only would I like to visit Hogwarts, I also want to attend school there and enjoy occasional trips to Hogsmeade during the snowy months. I mean, why wouldn't you want to go there? There's warm butterbeer at Three Broomsticks, delicious sweets at Honeydukes, and great shopping at Zonko's Joke Shop.

2. Belle's Library. I love books. Can we just let the pi…

And the "Worst Blogger in the Blogosphere" Award Goes To.... + a Video

Why, hello there everyone! First of all, let me start off by saying, I HAVE MISSED YOU SO MUCH AND I FEEL TERRIBLE THAT I'VE BEEN GONE FOR NEARLY A MONTH AND A HALF WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION! Please, please forgive me! Of all the times that I've randomly disappeared, this is probably the one that made me miss talking to y'all the most. But I'm back!! Hopefully I won't abandon my blog again any time soon, but feel free to send me threatening emails me if I do.

Anyway, you're probably all wondering why I've been gone so long, and I have two things to tell you.

#1. My job.
#2. Robotics.

I'm hoping to give you a vlog sometime in the near future just updating you on what has been going on in my life in the past couple months, but to be honest, I just haven't had time for much lately besides school, work, and homework. I don't even have time to squeeze NaNo in this year *sad face*
For now, I'm just going to give you a extremely quick rundown of what…

5 Worst Love Lessons From Disney Movies

Hey y'all! You all know that I love Disney (you can see the extent of how much I love Disney HERE), so when I saw that Seventeen wrote an on-line article about the worst Disney love lessons, I really wanted to take a peak. I did, and I totally agree about these. Check them out, what do you think? And are there any more that you can think of?

Let's go.

*Everything below this point including word-blurbs, pictures, and GIFs are from Seventeen Magazine's website. In other words, I did not write this, I'm only sharing it with you from the source

We know there are some great love lessons we can learn from our favorite Disney movies, but there are some pretty bad ones, too. Here are five times your fave fairytales got it all wrong.

1. You have to trick a guy to fall in love with you.
In the The Little Mermaid, Ursula may be the villain, but Ariel is the one who's willing to do anything to get Eric to fall in love with her, even if it means tricking him and leaving her fam…

Tubesday: Featuring Miranda and Colleen

Hey y'all! Today's Tubesday is of Miranda (Miranda Sings) and Colleen (PhychoSoprano) singing Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I literally could not handle this video. By the end I was laughing so hard I could barely see, so I highly recommend watching it.  Just so you know Colleen is singing Belle's part. She is a very talented actress and singer despite her Miranda-ness.
Note* for those of you who have never heard of either person, they are actually the same person. Miranda is a character who Colleen plays on YouTube that wears too much lipstick, doesn't spell very well, and has a ton of boyfriends including Joey Graceffa, Ricky Dillon, Tyler Oakley, and her uncle. Miranda does tutorials, music videos, collaborations, challenges, vlogs, and other great stuff. I'm sorry if you don't find her funny (some people don't) but I think she's hilarious!  Happy Tubesday!

Summer Reading Roundup - 2014

Hello! This past summer has been full of reading for me, so I wanted to share with you my thoughts on books that I enjoyed. I can't include everything I've read because that would be way to long, and you guys don't want to read through it all, but I tried to add almost all of the ones that I recorded on here. If you have any questions about any of the books I read, or have other book suggestions for me, please leave a comment down below! Let's get started.

Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson, 4.5 thieving crews out of 5

In a world where ash falls from the sky, and mist dominates the night, an evil cloaks the land and stifles all life. The future of the empire rests on the shoulders of a troublemaker and his young apprentice. Together, can they fill the world with color once more?In Brandon Sanderson's intriguing tale of love, loss, despair and hope, a new kind of magic enters the stage - Allomancy, a magic of the metals. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and honestl…

Status Update: Employed

Hi y'all! So, I have officially joined the rankings of those with jobs. I am not going to be a bum anymore as my brother likes to say. Shocking, I know.

I applied for a job in a pretty classy restaurant on the sixth floor of a building overlooking Lake Michigan. It's a very, very nice place and I know several people who have worked there before me and loved it.
Since it's owned by a senior living facility, all of the diners are regulars and after a while, I will know all of them by name and vise-versa. The best part of that is the relationships I'll eventually make (I love talking to and meeting new people), and when I graduate high school, there is a scholarship ceremony where all of the elderly give money to the students that had been their waiters and waitresses for so many years. That is an awesome, and very generous deal if I do say so myself.

When I got the call offering me the job, I was shocked and excited. For one thing, it was the first and only place I appli…

Back to School Q & A

My concert was amazing *squeals* I'm going to try to upload photos and maybe videos sometime in the near future, but no promises. I'm not exactly sure how I can get a video from Facebook onto blogger, so anyone have suggestions?

Well, now that I've gotten that out of the way, hello everyone! My school starts this week *sadface* and I'm so not ready for summer to be over. Who's with me? This summer has been full of some awesome memories including some insane road trips, great robotics competitions, petting zoo fiascoes, and much, much more.
It seems crazy that it's already the time of year that we all have to pack up our school bags and charge full-speed-ahead into some type of learning institution, but alas, we can't seem to slow it's coming. I'm sure some of you have already been in class for a while now, but for those of you who haven't, I'm going to do a Back to School Q & A. Comment a question you might have and I'll do my best t…

July's Shopping Spoils (And Partial Birthday Haul!)

Hello my dearest readers! I have to admit, this post is scheduled because today is the day that I am going to see One Direction and Five Seconds of Summer in concert *Hurrah*, and I won't have time to write a post as I'll be preparing myself physically and mentally for the event. Now, I'm not as big a fan of the band as I once was, but I still like them and I know this is a once and a lifetime opportunity, so I'M GOING AND NO ONE CAN STOP ME.
I've already got my outfit picked out (which you can see the upper half of farther below), and I have a few things in the queuing area, prepared to be placed in my purse to go along as well, such as glow sticks, snacks, water, a poster that says "CAN I HAVE A HUG," and several things for the boys to sign just in case a miracle happens and I meet them lol.
Anyway, I've been shopping a lot lately (well I've gotten this stuff over the course of 4 months), so I'm just going to share with you a few of the t…
