Now the News....

Hey there, I'm sure you've all been waiting in suspense about whether or not I've made the spelling bee, but wait no further, the story is really quite lame so don't expect much.
So last year, there was about 40-50 kids trying out and only 8 could make it. This year only 8 can make it also, and I went to Mrs. Rosenbluum's classroom during lunch where the tryouts were taking place.
I, being a semi-responsible person, got their early and five of us waited in awkward silence while we waited for the others to show up and Mrs. Rosenbluum to start.
Well turns out that it remained only five people in the room: myself, Cal, Abigayle, Reagan, and Mark. There was no competition and we all made it. Yup that's it! Good for me though, because I don't know if I would have made it otherwise!
Seana didn't want to try out this year, I don't know why, and our other friend Christine didn't either for obvious reasons.... last year she had the word barracks and spelled it "Barix-" pause "Is there another x?" It was hilarious! By the way, if you are reading this Christi, we <3 you, just making fun :)

Anyway, onto other things. So tomorrow is tryouts for our school's eighth grade play and I'm sort of going between who I should try out for. The play is The Beverly Hillbillies and let me tell you, it's extremely farcical! I want a small part because I tend to have extreme freak out moments, ask Sea, she can tell you, but I don't know who to try out for! Got any suggestions?

One last topic for the day. So our school's Christmas concert is coming up and Sea and I both have somewhat big parts! I'm already nervous because in ensemble (which is an advanced choir I guess you could say) I got a duet part with another guy, Louis. Not Louis Tomlinson sadly, if it were Louis Tomlinson, I would be sooooooooooooo excited! Anyway, I have to sing with him in front of a whole audience and I don't know what I was thinking when I tried out! Sea also has a trio I guess you could say with Rick and Rianna in the same song.
Sea, Julia, and I also have a flute trio with four or five other clarinets too which I'm not quite as nervous about, but still nervous!

One last thing, I promise! Please check out Sea's and my other blog because I'm holding a "sort of" contest there, and I haven't gotten any entries quite yet. Please enter, it would make me so happy!

Anyway, I need to go over the parts I'm thinking about for the play, so I'll be off,
July

  1. *coughcough* It's a quartet, silly. You forgot Brendan!

And, July, you need to settle down a smidge. Now is not the time for freak-out moments. You both sounded really good, so you and Louis have nothing to worry about. Same thing with the flute ensemble thing. You'll do fine! I'm only worried that my flute will squeak strangely, or suddenly decide to rebel against me and play the lower octave of a note or something odd like that. (:

Oh, and the BHB tryouts go all week long after Wednesday, so if you don't get the chance to try out tomorrow, it's not a problem. I'll probably try on Thursday because I have to stick around school anyhow.

Either way, MRS. DRYSDALE is all you! (:

    1. Heehee thanks :) Louis Tomlinson is from One Direction, yup! Haha it would be so much better singing with him than Louis from my school (if you are reading this Louis, no offense is intended!)

  3. I had a spelling be yesterday, but it wasn't a trial. The trials were a written bee, which I happen to be MUCH better at than oral spelling bees. The person before my got the word "calendar" and then I got "soliloquy" and I'm just like...really??!! I spelled prociutto wrong...speaking of, I don't even know what that means. Excuse me as I go look it up XP

  4. Hey, a side-note about your new blog title possibilities....I like how it is now. the other ones sound a bit too..how shall I say...a smidge overly dramatic, heading towards the path of cheesy?

  5. XD it's actually prosciutto, not prociutto... it's an Italian dry-cured ham. The pictures on Google look pretty appetizing...haha. When is your actual spelling bee?

    1. Oooooohhhhhh! Yeah I know what that is! I did a culinary class this summer and we used prosciutto! That is a hard word to spell..... Ha. The spelling bee is sometime in January, I don't know the exact date yet. Thanks for asking though!

  10. Sorry for bothering you, but I have another question to ask...I'm totally useless with computers...
How do you put other people's blog buttons on your blog? I'd like to add yours and a few others =). Thank you!

    1. Oh that's totally fine :P
What kind of computer do you use?
I use a mac and I can just take a screen shot or drag the photo to my desktop then upload it on "layout". That's the basic version and I'll go into more detail if I know what computer you use :)

    2. Another simple way (only if there's a html code to copy-and-paste below the picture) is to copy that code, and then add a 'html text box' to your blog layout and that should display it.

I have an HP computer, and I don't know how to get blog stamps with just photo's, no codes.

      Anyways, July, I'm a new follower. :)
