Back to School Q & A

My concert was amazing *squeals* I'm going to try to upload photos and maybe videos sometime in the near future, but no promises. I'm not exactly sure how I can get a video from Facebook onto blogger, so anyone have suggestions?

Well, now that I've gotten that out of the way, hello everyone! My school starts this week *sadface* and I'm so not ready for summer to be over. Who's with me? This summer has been full of some awesome memories including some insane road trips, great robotics competitions, petting zoo fiascoes, and much, much more.
It seems crazy that it's already the time of year that we all have to pack up our school bags and charge full-speed-ahead into some type of learning institution, but alas, we can't seem to slow it's coming. I'm sure some of you have already been in class for a while now, but for those of you who haven't, I'm going to do a Back to School Q & A. Comment a question you might have and I'll do my best to respond in the comment box :)
If you don't have questions, go ahead and read the comments anyway, and maybe you'll get some great advice to a question you'd never think of yourself. Also, feel free to chime in with your own advice to the questions, because as they say, the more the merrier!

Here is my words of wisdom to each class.

Freshman-- Do not take classes as a joke! Your grades and GPA this year DO matter and they will affect you in the future, so do your best.

Sophomores-- Just because you're not in the freshman status anymore doesn't mean that you need a significant other in your life... Be yourself, and most importantly, know that you don't need a boyfriend/girlfriend to make you "cool."

Juniors-- Keep plowing ahead, and don't give up! You're almost seniors.

Seniors-- Enjoy your last year of school because this will be one of the last times that everybody in your class will all be together. Don't get too caught up in all the "college stuff" or in your job that you miss all the great memory making experiences with your friends.

Have a great school year!

  1. Here's so advice for senior/junior: really look into colleges. Some have great scholarship opprptunities that you would never know about unless you spend time trying to figure it out.

Also private schools may seem expensive but they will (if you need it) give you money to help you attend.

Also don't think you have to go straight to college after highschool. Take a year to figure things out, like what you want to do!

Last one: YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO STRAIGHT TO A FOUR YEAR! Go to a junior college and get your general ed out of the way. You will save a ton of money!

Hope this helps some of you guys!

    1. That is great advice. My brother is going to college in a few days, so for this entire past year, I've been learning wayyy more about colleges and different plans for it than I ever wanted to. Thanks for giving your input!

  2. I remember watching a show on YouTube where a senior tells a Freshman girl that it is never to early to look into a college.

Also you don't have to go to college if you don't want to. There are private and technical schools you can check out. My mom went to a technical school years ago and she works as a CNA (certified nursing assistant). It only took her a few months of school.

    1. Also great advice. I think the smaller schools that you are talking about aren't as well known, but still great options!

  3. Everytime I hear the word "Sophomore" I just feel like I'm watching a film. Can you please tell me how old people are when they are in sophomore so I can figure out the equivalent in Ireland?

Aaaagh! I'm starting College next week! EEEKK! I'm so petrified. I think this calls for some Mandrake Restorative Draught preferably from Professor Sprout herself. ^_^

    1. Haha! Sorry, I totally understand what you're going through... School systems for any other countries are extremely confusing to me. When you're a sophomore (like me!), you're either 15 or 16. What is the school program for that age called in Ireland?
Oh, good luck! Does that mean that you're 18 or 19 now? Or is college have a totally different age in Ireland too...
But yes, I think you're right about that. Send off your request on an owl right away!

  4. Also, you don't have to even have an idea of what you want to do straight out of high school! My friend is going to a college and taking courses but she still doesn't know what she wants to do with her life.

Was the petting zoo fiasco the one we had, or did you have another one? O.o if it was different, STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!! Haha ;p

    1. Yes, that is an awesome option too. My brother was almost going to do that, but at the last minute he decided what major he wanted, so he didn't need to take a year of doing core classes and could head right into it.
And yup, you got it. It was the donkey dilemma.... xD

    1. Thank you!! So, my computer (which has filters on it because it belongs to the school) is blocking your blog right now... Not sure why, but I'll be sure to check out your post on my mom's computer.
      Thanks so much though Amy!

    2. Actually, I figured out why! If I delete the ".com.uk" and add ".com" it lets me. The filter must not be a fan of non-American websites. Strange.
