Happy Valentines Day!

Hello to all my lovely readers out there. It's Valentines Day, and this year I'm celebrating alone (again), but, I really don't need a man in my life as a freshman in high school. Really, I don't.
Anyway, today we are playing the heart game in school where girls wear a heart around their necks and aren't allowed to talk to guys outside of classes or at lunch. If they do, the guy "wins" their heart. So far, I'm all good. I still have my heart around my neck, and I don't plan on giving it away any time soon ;)
Oh, and just to let you know, I'm writing this during class. Whoops. I'm a rebel.

Honestly, I think Valentines Day is stupid, but in choir this morning, someone said something that I thought was really cool.
She told us that she was going about on this day with the mindset that this isn't just a day to celebrate boyfriend/girlfriend/marriage relationships, it's a day to love on everybody. I think that's absolutely brilliant and I decided to adopt that as well.
So, I just want to let you all know that I love you. Thank you so much for reading this blog, and for your putting up with me, here's a box of chocolates *holds out heart shaped box wrapped with big red bow*. And also take this massive teddy bear *hands you gigantic fluffy creature*.

Happy Valentines Day!
Love, July

I had to include this gif... Hilarious!

  1. I would totally rock that game. Plus, along with what that girl said, why is it whenever someone says love, it's always boyfriend and girlfriend? I love my siblings and friends.

  2. Total rebel for writing a blog post during class!

And I'm pretty sure that my heart would be still be around my neck too...

Also, somehow I'd managed to disable comments from this post - http://awkwarddonkey.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/rant-about-animals-kept-in-captivity.html - I don't know if you'd tried to comment or anything, but the option to comment is back up, you know, if you want too...

    1. I know, right?? ;)
I noticed that! I was going to comment, but couldn't find the comment button. I'm glad you fixed it because I'm heading over right now!

  3. Well, that's an interesting game. But, in our school these things are..well, not allowed. Infact during Valentines week there can be a surprise check any time, and if anything like flower, chocolates or gifts are found, strict actions are taken.

  4. I agree... valentine's day should allow you to express your love to ALL.
Although I must admit I like the opportunity it gives to inexperienced and slightly awkward teenagers to express their love to each other... So many people (including myself) got either love declarations or a date yesterday! Haha. :)

    1. Haha, the way you put that! "I like the opportunity it gives to inexperienced and slightly awkward teenagers to express their love to each other" Oh my word, I'm absolutely cracking up!

You got a date/love note?? Ahh, that's so exciting. I hope it was fun :D

Hello there! Thanks so much for dropping by my little corner of the blogosphere. I'd really appreciate if you could give me a follow as well *hint, hint* These "about-me's" are literally the hardest things to write, but I'll have a go at it. You can call me July, or really whatever else floats your boat. I live in a very culturally proud little town that borders beautiful beaches, giving us fun for both summer and winter such as swimming, tanning, boating, skiing, ice-fishing, ice-berg walking, and gorgeous sunsets on the beach year-round. I hope to make it through high school and head off to college for, well, I don't know yet, but whatever it is, it'll be something I love. Robotics, books, movies, and music of all genres are kinda my thing. I would basically consider myself to be one of those stereotypical girls who fall desperately in love with fictional boys... I have a strange obsession with tea drunken from cute elephant mugs. So grab a cuppa and strap yourselves in for some brilliant stuff coming soon!
